The Grand St Annes Wedding of Katy-Ann & Matthew Crone 6th December 2008

Saturday began by delivering the wedding bouquets to our Bride Katy, the rooms at The Grand Hotel were superb, hair was being done by David Hancock of Leroy Mark hairdressers in Cleveleys & "Stewy Vuitton" of S&P hair St. Annes in one room and make up by Pure Beauty in another, Wedding Planner extrodinaire Janet Fenton had everything under control.

The hair was totally superb David & Stewy I am seriously impressed, you are completely blowing me away you guys they all looked phenominal!

We did the big reveal, pealing back the layers to uncover the gorgeous bouquet nestled in mounds of white tissue. We did the bouquet holding lesson, shoulders back chest out , the bouquet needed to be carried on Katy's hip, I had designed it to sit on the skirts, to be supported by the fabric, I wanted it to look like an extension of the gown.

Magic wands for Eleanor & Molly and smaller versions of Katy's for all the girls:Lisa, Louise, Tracey, Helen and Emma.

The look we wanted to create for Katy & Matt was one of decadence, a frosty, glistening, beautiful wedding day, we pictured the day with crystallized blush pinks and soft cosy greens set against a backdrop of winter coolness, a wedding day is designed to show the whole world, particularly all those that are important to you, just how much you love each other and the best way to do this is by doing it in fairytale, full on Cinderella, Sparkle and fizz style just like Katy-Ann & Matt.
The lovely Jane from Pure Beauty did the most beautiful job of Katy's make up, we notice how different the make up is in the winter from the summer, Jane is so professional in this and I noticed particularly on the photographs I took of Katy that she didn't have that cold blue shinyness that we so often witness on girls who haven't had expert advice, instead Katy's skin glowed and she looked wonderful.

We then went off to St. Annes Parish Church, Singleton to meet the boys, Sarah from Abigail & Eye who I have to say are sensational photographers, I can't wait to see their wonderful photographs of this beautiful wedding and one of the Graham Fenton Experience camera men, the film of this wedding could be worthy of an Oscar I'm certain.
Matt our extremely handsome groom needed a bit of styling, he wore a buttonhole of White Phalenopsis and Kochia.

The Grooms men all had Sweet Avalache Rose buttonholes.

The Pews were dressed with Pinus Strobus, silvered Eryngium, Skimmia Berries and Pale Pink Gerberas.

The pedestals in church were huge with Frosted Continus, Long trails of white Phalaenopsis Orchids, Pale Pink Gerberas and Sweet Avalanche Roses, we always try to use these particular Urns & Pillars because they blend perfectly with this churches architecture.

Singleton Church lies in a naturally beautiful setting, secluded and private. Therefore the flowers have got to be in keeping with that setting, we used candles in lanterns to line the pathway and hung on The Lytch Gate, this created a very warm welcome for the bridal party and the guests (if not actual then at least visual warmth).

We used Orchids and roses amongst the firs and the spruces, we let the ivy trail to add a feeling of wildness.

This is the lovely Leanne Kirszanek whose wdding we did earlier in the year.

When we were in the planning stages for this wedding I suggested to Janet (Wedding Planner) and Katy the idea of having gorgeous bundles of fresh Mistletoe attached to grapevine bell tied into in the porch ceiling, we were picturing everyone kissing each other as they went into church.

The garland around the door seemed to hug the figures in the stone work as if they were keeping them warm.

We included some fragrant pink hyacinths around the door, the hyacinths really added something to the seasonal scents and fragrances as you walked into church.

The winter sun glinted off the lanterns lining the path to church, I love this the lanterns lining the route, a little bit of theatre and majesty.

This is the Reverend Martin Keighley kissing the lovely Dorothy Brown (Flower Design loves Dorothy Brown she is super helpful and she loves our flowers too) under the mistletoe Bell, I sit in on loads of services and I have to say I always thoroughly enjoy Martin's sermons, they are delivered with sincerity and enthusiasm.

The cars were from Clouds and looked regal and the service from The Clouds team was superb as usual, their red carpet is an essential piece of kit for these winter weddings.

The bridesmaids looked really beautiful their gowns were all made by Marcos Bridal Couture on Queens Street in Blackpool.

The Bridesmaids bouquets had a seasonal selection of foliages and berries including Eucalyptus Globes, Cezanne, Vendella & Sweet Avalache Roses and trails of winter flowering Jasmine.

Molly was an excellent flower girl and she looked absolutely gorgeous too.

By the time everyone arrived the sun was quite low in the sky and casting really long shadows.

The use of fresh Christmas frosted wax flower and the silvered asparagus fern around the door contributed to the notions of drama, frostiness and gloriousness. In the same way, the Cezanne roses with their beautiful swirls will provided gorgeous sustenance. Just as importantly, we will use funky Christmassy foliages, twisting and folding their way into the garland as well as scented greens, firs and spruces.

THE BRIDAL BOUQUET
The bouquet I created for Katy was in a “Flower Design” hand tied style with beautiful miniature white Phalaenopsis orchids, shell pink Sweet Avalanche Roses, Vendella Roses, Cezanne which is the ivory one with palest pink edges, Blue Spruce and Eucalyptus, together with some fresh mistletoe berries, trails of fragrant winter flowering Jasmine and some frosted fresh wax flower. The bouquet was finished with tiny diamante studs in some of the roses and a white tulle handle and satin ribbon.

The combination of orchids and roses worked beautifully with the frosted winter foliages.
Katy's dress was such a fairytale gown, Marcos Bridal Couture created something utterly magical.

A kiss from Dad Robert for the bride under the mistletoe bell.

The windowsills were dressed with holly, spruces and Flower Design lanterns
A basket of fresh rose petals ready in the porch.
A close up of the Mistletoe bell, the frame is made of grape vines.

Many congratulations to both of you

The Grand Hotel in St Annes looked totally fabulous we were aming at a touch of "Narnia"

We used glittered jelly set with fresh sweet Avalanche Rose petals in the LSA Vases.

The Top table was created with a focal area of King Protea,White Phalaenopsis Orchids and a crown of pink hyacinths, the length was created by trailing Dendrobium Orchids and Jasmine.

This is the swinging Howard Wing, entertainer to the stars...

The table linen and chair covers were by Special Occasion Linen, the pale pink runners on the table tops really finished off the room beautifully. These magical ghost trees on the tables were absolutely fantastical and really hepled create a fairytale feeling to the reception.

This is the view of the room from the Bride & Groom's seats, The Grand are absolutely brilliant at creating the perfect Wedding Reception experience, Caroline & Brian run a superb team of waiters and waitresses, attention to detail is their speciality.
